At this point, it's pretty clear that gamers are split on Star Wars: Battlefront. Many claim that it's the Star Wars video game that everyone's been waiting for, while fans of the classic series argue that EA and DICE are just using nostalgia to get at gamers' wallets. Even the reviews themselves can't seem to make up their minds: critics will applause Battlefront's fantastic visuals only to slam it for poor balance and a severe lack of content.
So, is Battlefront just a gorgeous piece of nostalgia bait, or is it a good game based on its own merits?
Since we've already handed out our verdict on that particular question, it's time for the folks over at Smosh Games to judge EA and DICE's latest. That's right: Star Wars: Battlefront is finally getting the Honest Game Trailers treatment. It's basically everything that anyone would ever need to know about Battlefront in less than five minutes...which is probably a lot longer than players will survive before getting shot from across the map.
If there's anything that makes the Emperor's creepy walk cycle and bizarre animations easier to digest, it's the fact that your chances of actually grabbing the power-up required to play as him are basically non-existent.
In all honesty, the Battlefront Honest Trailer is similar to a lot of other Battlefront reviews out there: sure, the game is pretty, but that doesn't matter much when there's nothing interesting to play. Battlefront has its fair share of fun modes, and it can feel like you're playing through the movies...but there are more than a few problems that are keeping the game from living up to its potential.
For anyone still playing Star Wars: Battlefront, expect to see the first batch of DLC hit sometime early next year.
