The holidays finally came and with that, Fox released a new trailer for its upcoming superhero movie, "Deadpool." The new trailer is better than the first one, which shouldn't have been a difficult task to accomplish seeing as the first wasn't so great.
There are two versions of this awesome trailer, one that is for the kiddies and the other for those who are old enough to listen to folks on screen spewing naughty words. The thing is, the Red Band trailer is much better due to the curse words, but that's subjective.
Our thoughts on the new trailer:
It is a better trailer than "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" second full-length trailer, and that's just summarizing the whole thing.
The first "Deadpool" trailer did not grab my interest very much because the jokes failed to utter many laughs. In terms of action, it looked good, but not on a scale that should get my adrenaline pumping. However, this all changed with the release of the second trailer.
Now, 20th Century Fox did an excellent job with the new trailer because the jokes have connected, and the action scenes were all impressive. We also get to learn more of the story and whom "Deadpool" is hunting, as well as why. The trailer showed that the experiment done on him was not to turn him into a superhero, but a "super slave."
It is quite similar to when Wolverine got his bone turned into metal. The guys who did the deed had ulterior motives, and Wolverine did not know of this. The same can be said for "Deadpool" in this instance, and it seems it might even have a similar ending.
The trailer also showed a guy making fun of "Deadpool" due to his burn marks. Throughout the film, we expect several folks to make fun of "Deadpool" - well, those who managed to see the ugly looking face under the mask.
We also saw some members of the X-Men and seem to be interested in having "Deadpool" join the team. We're not certain if this will happen, but seeing as he joined the team briefly in the comics, it could happen here.
For those who are not aware, Wolverine's DNA was used to give Wade Wilson his powers, ultimately turning him into "Deadpool." With the DNA of Wolverine, "Deadpool" can heal himself from any wound. Interestingly enough, his healing factor far surpasses that of Wolverine.
While it is possible for "Deadpool" to survive having his head chopped off, Wolverine would likely die from such an attack, so that alone should be enough to prove how powerful the character is.
Overall, this trailer is better than the first, and for the first time, I can say for sure that "Deadpool" is now one of my most anticipated films of 2016. If the whole film can go on with the same great humor and cool action, then we could very well be witnessing the rise of the "Deadpool" movie franchise.
