Kia is taking full advantage of Marvel's upcoming and highly anticipated movie.
The automaker has unleashed special edition version of its 2017 Sportage SUV, which was inspired by the impending X-Men: Apocalypse movie, slated to hit theaters in May 2016. Kia even refers to the vehicle as its X-Car.
Upon first glance at the customized vehicle, Marvel fans will see a familiar color scheme — that of Mystique. The SUV sports matte and gloss blue paint, adding extra flair with red and yellow wheels.
Motor Authority reports that this special edition Sportage will be shown for the first time during the 2016 Australian Open in January. That formal revealing also marks a tie-in for Kia, considering the automaker is a proud sponsor of the tennis tournament.
While this Sportage is bound to turn heads, especially those of Marvel fans, it's not Kia's first dive in delivering an X-Men-themed vehicle. This past January, during the 2015 Australian Open, Kia unleashed a Wolverine-inspired Sorento.
The fact that the 2017 Sportage X-Car will coincide with the release of X-Men: Apocalypse, hitting theaters just four months later, makes the timing of this showing all the more special.
Overall, the 2017 Sportage touts a brand-new design with a more-detailed inside cabin to boot.
Motor Authority additionally reports that the SUV will be available in two different four-cylinder engines with the stronger one even touting a turbo-charged, 241-horsepower engine.
