This Darth Vader Tribute Is Made Entirely Out Of Gingerbread

This Star Wars-inspired cookie cutout puts even the most elaborate Christmas-themed gingerbread house to shame: an artist based in Oslo, Norway has created a lifelike 3D rendering of the Galactic Empire's most infamous arch-villain, Darth Vader, entirely out of gingerbread.

Designed by Caroline Eriksson, the cookie-constructed Darth Vader perfectly captures the Sith Lord's likeness, from his iconic helmet to his lightsaber and cape.

The edible Vader appeared on the 3D artist's Facebook page when she posted it to her personal account on Dec. 21, captioning a photo of the Sith Lord mounted on a wooden platform with a question to her social media followers:

3 weeks and 3 fire-alarms later I am excited to show you my gingerbread Star Wars creation, Darth Vader, cant wait to hear what you guys think! :) #StarWars #ForceAwakens #Gingerbread #GingerbreadDarthVader

Less than 24 hours later, the photo went viral. Most recently, the photo of the gingerbread statue was reposted on Reddit, where users have reacted to the photo with the only way the Internet knows how: puns.

Notable comments include:

"Did she overcook it? Looks a bit on the Dark Side."

"Come to the Dark side... We are cookies."

"The Force is strong in this crumb."

This isn't the first time Eriksson has brought fictional characters to life with the help of baked goods: previous 3D creations include Optimus Prime from Transformers and Smaug from J.R.R. Tolkien's classic Lord of the Rings series.

As one Reddit user put it, "Darth Delicious."
