Fallout 4 is an amazing game. The open world, the characters, the weapons - it all comes together so perfectly. If anything, Fallout 4 proves that Bethesda can create beautiful, believable worlds, regardless of how outlandish the setting is.
That being said, the base version of Fallout 4 is missing something: Star Wars. Sure, nuclear missile launchers and Deathclaw gauntlets are great, but who wouldn't want to wander around the Commonwealth dispatching justice with a Jedi's weapon of choice? Why can't players try and conquer the wasteland in the name of the Sith? Considering that Fallout is full of flaming swords already, who's to say that a lightsaber wouldn't fit right in with all of the game's other weapons?
Thankfully, the Fallout 4 modding community is already growing rapidly, and the first real batch of user-created content is making its way into the game. Truth be told, a mod like this is basically Bethesda modding tradition at this point: thanks to user Invalidfate, players can finally get their hands on an actual, working lightsaber in Fallout 4:
Titled 'Lightsaber Renew', the mod does exactly what its title implies - it gives both players and NPCs access to Star Wars' signature weapon. Granted, the mod is still a work-in-progress, so it may be a bit glitchy - even so, it's hard to deny how much fun it is to cut down the denizens of Fallout with a lightsaber.
As an added bonus, the player's lightsaber can be customized - while it won't behave any differently, you can change the color of your blade to match the rest of your outfit...or just turn it red and go full Sith on the rest of the wasteland.
