Rocksteady Studios, makers of Batman: Arkham Knight for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, has announced that the latest downloadable content for the game will be available on Tuesday.
The final DLC for Arkham Knight will feature exciting new additions to the game, including four new villains Batman can square up against in the "Most Wanted" missions under the series "Season of Infamy."
The deranged Mad Hatter, the misguided scientist Mister Freeze, the murderous metahuman Killer Croc and the eco-terrorist Ra's al Ghul are all set to give the Dark Knight more than he can handle.
Season of Infamy: Wonderland
In the Season of Infamy: Wonderland DLC for Arkham Knight, the Mad Hatter (Jervis Tetch) has joined up with Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight to exact his revenge on Batman. He kidnaps two prominent members of Gotham City in order to lure the Dark Knight into a final battle with him.
Season of Infamy: In From the Cold
Mister Freeze (Victor Fries) is on a mission to rescue his wife Nora after Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight took her cryogenic capsule away. Fries blames Batman for dragging him and his wife into his war against the two supervillains.
Season of Infamy: Beneath The Surface
Killer Croc (Waylon Jones) has fashioned a new base of operations for himself from the wreckage of an airship. He has also engaged in a series of cannibalistic attacks on the people of Gotham, drawing the attention of the Dark Knight.
Season of Infamy: Shadow War
While Batman battles Arkham Knight's men all over Gotham City, the followers of Ra's al Ghul secretly retrieve the ancient supervillain's body. This forces the Dark Knight to confront the League of Assassins as well who are trying to revive their fallen master.
Other Additions to Arkham Knight
The game developer has also thrown in a new costume for the Caped Crusader based on the Batsuit Christian Bale wore in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight" film. The Batmobile gets a nice spruce up as well with a new vehicle skin design similar to the one used in Batman: Arkham Asylum.
The addition of the Batsuit from the film was made in response to the request of numerous fans to include the iconic costume in Arkham Knight.
Fans of the game who purchased the "season pass" for Batman: Arkham Knight will receive the downloadable content as well, with this being the last batch to be rolled out for the program.
The latest DLC marks Rocksteady's final run with the Batman: Arkham game series since first developing the game back in 2009. The company created three of the four game titles in the series - Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009), Batman: Arkham City (2011) and Batman: Arkham Knight (2015).
Batman: Arkham Origins, which was released in 2013, was developed by Warner Bros. Games Montreal.
