While most people have probably already put their lights on their Christmas tree, those who haven't might want to consider instead just buying a projector.
A company called Ambos, which is based in Brazil, created a pretty impressive-looking Christmas tree display by modeling the tree in 3D, then used a programming language to create a mapping tool, enabling the user to tell the project what and where to project on the tree. The result is a Christmas tree setup that comes alive using projected animations.
Users also won't need any fancy projection technology, with projectors most often used in office buildings or schools doing just fine.
Of course, simply using a projector also makes post-Christmas cleanup a lot easier, since users simply have to switch off the projector and take their tree out the same way it came in. No longer will users have to carefully pack away those precious Christmas ornaments. Instead, those ornaments can stay in their boxes this year. Or, you could combine the ornaments with the high-tech software to create a hybrid tree.
There's no word on any commercial availability for the software that Ambos created for now, but you can still check out the video below to see what we can expect in future Christmases.
