Warning! This article contains spoilers from Wednesday night's episode 'She Gets Revenge.'
American Horror Story: Hotel started off with a bang — well, two — Wednesday night, a theme that carried on throughout the episode.
Both Donovan (Matt Bomer) and the Countess (Lady Gaga) fired away at their enemies, as Sally (Sarah Paulson) swore on her soul she would kill John Lowe (Wes Bentley) after he called their affair off to return to Alex and his kids.
Speaking of kids, Liz Taylor (Denis O'Hare) finally spoke to her son for the first time since leaving her family. But after attending to her unfinished business, she just couldn't go on with the plan for herself and Iris (Kathy Bates) to pull the trigger and end their mournful lives. Instead, they decided to point their pistols at those who deserve it most.
While most of the episode moved a bit slowly, things heated up quickly from this point forward. We got one of our favorite scenes thus far, Matt Bomer dancing to Drake's "Hotline Bling," before an emotional conversation with the Countess. And that's when Iris and Liz came in guns blazing in their attempt to overthrow the Countess' power at Hotel Cortez.
Our jaws dropped thinking that the Countess could possibly have checked out, but we know that at Hotel Cortez, anything is possible.
In the promo for episode 11, which will return after the holidays, we see Liz disposing of a body draped in a white sheet. But a later flash of The Countess may suggest Donovan was the unfortunate soul that was killed.
We also get another look at the strange, faceless monster that lives in the hotel (who was seen whispering in Sally's ear last night).
Titled "Battle Royale," we also see Romana returning again, revealing she will need to take a life in order to survive. And we guess some big showdown will happen after the tension has been bubbling all season between her and the Countess.
And just when we thought we have seen enough to get us excited for this next episode, Ryan Murphy throws a surprise in this season for us — one of our favorite former cast members is making a return.
That's right, Gabourey Sidibe (known for her role as Queen in Coven and Regina Ross in Freak Show) is checking in this season.
We can't wait to see what role she will play, but since Iris is eyeing her as dinner we hope she is able to stick around.
American Horror Story: Hotel returns at 10 p.m. Jan. 6 on FX. Watch the promo for "Battle Royale" below.
