U.S. network operator AT&T is quietly offering a Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) promotion on none other than the latest iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus smartphones.
On Friday, Dec. 11, AT&T took the wraps off its "Buy One Get One Free" promotion for a slew of top-end select Samsung smartphones such as the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6. However, the deal is not just limited to the Samsung flagships, but also the latest Apple offerings - the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
Several publications have validated that the Apple smartphones are also eligible for the BOGO offer. However, a possibility exists that AT&T is not listing the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus BOGO offer on its website due to Apple.
"A visit to the AT&T promotional webpage lists Samsung devices as eligible for a "buy one, get one free" promotion, though a call to local AT&T store confirmed the promotion applies to the iPhone 6s as well," per Apple Insider.
To qualify for the AT&T BOGO offer on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, a customer is required to buy the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus through the carrier's financing program i.e. AT&T Next.
Customers get a $650 credit which is basically the price for the 16 GB variant of the iPhone 6s. This $650 credit, however, will be spread of the financing installments for AT&T Next plan i.e. over 28 or 30 monthly installments.
Those who opt for the AT&T Next 24 plan will get $21.67 per month for 30 months, whereas AT&T Next plan customers who give a down payment will receive $23.22 per month for 28 months. Both total to $650.
Extras such as taxes and service fees will have to be borne by the consumer. Moreover, the credit of $650 can also be used towards an iPhone 6s Plus or an iPhone 6s of a higher capacity. However, the difference in cost will need to be paid by the customer.
Down payments as required will need to be paid at the time of sale. The monthly credits will be appearing by the second or third bill cycle. To be eligible for the BOGO offer, the original AT&T line must be in good standing.
Even though AT&T has not advertised the "Buy One Get One Free" deal for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, it can be availed at participating AT&T stores. The promotion runs till Dec. 31, 2015.
