A Halo 5: Guardians update is well under way, which will bring in a slew of "advanced" controller options.
The extra options to the Controller Menu is big news to fans of this well-renowned first-person-shooter as it lets them fine-tune their shooting experience, especially in fast-paced multiplayer games.
The main tweaks 343 Industries added include settings for:
- Look Acceleration
- Inner Dead Zone; and
- Outer Dead Zone.
Look Acceleration
This option lets gamers adjust the time it takes to attain top look speed. 343 Industries says on Halo Waypoint that the higher the setting, the faster gamers will arrive at top speed while the lower the setting, the more time it takes for them to get to top speed.
With the update applied in the coming week, the setting is going to default to 3. It notes, nevertheless, that if gamers wish to make the experience akin to multiplayer beta, they can use the 2 setting.
Inner Dead Zone
This describes an area around the center position of the analog stick. This Inner Dead Zone is used primarily to avoid drift. A drift is a camera movement which occurs even if gamers are not applying any input to the look stick. This is brought on once the analog sticks do not return completely to the center. A few of the main reasons why drift takes place include deterioration of the controller, manufacturing tolerances and much more. The studio says that the customization options will improve on this specific aspect.
Outer Dead Zone
This new controller option makes it possible for Xbox players to fine-tune the point where the analog stick strikes 100 percent input.
"Outer Dead Zone is used to prevent slow turn (when you are applying 100 [percent] input on the look stick but not reaching top look speed)," says 343 Industries.
The default values set on the controls are the same as the settings which gamers have used previously, so they don't have to be troubled about the update modifying every little thing, according to 343.
