The OnePlus 2 has only been released a few months ago but alleged renders of the OnePlus 3 have already surfaced together with speculated technical specifications.
Earlier this week, Chinese website Mobile-dad published an article with alleged renders of the OnePlus 3. The publication also cited a post on Dec. 8 by Upleaks0208 which specified possible specs for the OnePlus 3 on Weibo. Note that Mobile-dad's renders look different from the concept that Jermaine Smit showcased in a video.
Based on the alleged OnePlus 3 renders from Mobile-dad, the frame's shape still holds close similarities to that of the OnePlus 2, especially the back side that displays the OnePlus logo, along with dual LEDs and a main camera. There are also gray areas on both sides of the handheld, which could be touch-sensitive areas that serve functions for navigation and bootups. Some recent releases, such as the new ZTE phones, have such features.
The renders also show the speakers in front, a feature among handsets that a lot of audiophiles enjoy. The black version also sports a white bezel and the white version is wrapped in a black one.
As for the specs, Upleaks0208 claims that the OnePlus 3 will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (MSM8896) SoC, which most flagships expected to be released within the first half of 2016 are prospected to have. Moreover, the native resolution is said to be set at 1,080p, which seems questionable since a lot of non-Apple flagships go beyond 1,920 x 1,080.
Of course, all these specs, even the renders, are unconfirmed myths until OnePlus officially announces it. Even Upleaks0208 says that he or she isn't sure if the info is true. Hence, everything read here should be taken with extreme skepticism.
