Ever felt the need of owning a $2,000 speaker? Well, if you're an audiophile who loves to shop at the Apple Store, you're in luck because Devialet Phantom speakers are now available in 14 top Apple Stores in the United States.
These speakers are no joke, and they shouldn't be because $2,000 could purchase a lot of goodies. According to Devialet, the Phantom speaker comes in two flavors. One is a 750-watt monster, while the other is a 3,000-watt beast of a machine that is capable of delivering distortion-free sound. With that high price, some might be wondering if the speaker is the size of a giant, but it is not.
"Our dream was to find an important partnership to deploy Phantom quickly all around the world," says Romain Salzman, product manager of Devialet.
The 750-watt version will cost $1,990 while the 3,000-watt version will cost $2,390. These prices are the same if the user wants to purchase the speakers from Devialet, so it would seem Apple is making nothing from this deal, or maybe Devialet is taking a loss.
The speaker is quite small for the price, and guess what? It is wireless, too. Furthermore, since its release back in 2014, the speaker has been garnering great reviews from several top publications on the Web. It is seen as the best single speaker system, but the price might not be to the liking of some.
Apple selling the Phantom should not come as a surprise because the speaker is aimed at the high-end crowd, so it is perfect for the Apple Store.
Surprisingly, the speakers won't be demoed using Apple Music, but using Devialet's own app. The music will be designed to show off the Phantom's high-fidelity, which is probably why the company chose to use its own app and playlist.
The Devialet Phantom wireless speakers are expected to become a huge hit during the course of the holidays.
