It’s the crossover that fans have been wanting for over a decade, and this September Fox is finally going to give it to them. On September 28, the season premiere of “Family Guy” will be a special crossover episode with “The Simpsons.”
The episode will see the Griffin family wind up in Springfield to meet their iconic TV rivals. Entertainment Weekly has premiered a five-minute clip (embedded below) from the episode, which shows how the trademark humor of both series will blend together.
From Bart and Stewie making prank phone calls to Moe, to Peter and Homer getting into a brawl on a school bus, everything fans of both shows could ever hope for is here in this clip.
"The Simpsons" isn't the only outside series that shows up during the episode because Entertainment Weekly is also reporting that Bob from “Bob’s Burgers” will also make a cameo. The “Family Guy”/“Simpsons” crossover episode will also be followed later this season by an appearance by the “Futurama” cast on “The Simpsons.”
As for the future of “Family Guy,” Entertainment Weekly is reporting that during the show’s Comic-Con panel, executive producer Steve Callaghan told the audience that creator Seth MacFarlane has interest in doing a “Star Trek” parody on the show in the same way the series had three “Star Wars” parodies over the years.
The “Family Guy/“Simpsons” crossover will air on September 28. Watch the clip below:
