Staying on top of your daily responsibilities is not an easy task.
Some people choose to fill up a calendar with events, while others opt to make a to-do list.
Trying to make it easier to stay on top of your duties, Google announced Monday that users will be able to create Reminders in Google Calendar to keep track of their to-do tasks, alongside events in one convenient way to manage their day. Reminders will be impacting Google Calendar this week, with the latest version of Calendar available on Google Play or the App Store. Reminders will also be available via Calendar's desktop version.
Google has made it so that reminders stick with you, with users able to track them until they're actually done. So, say you created a reminder to pick up your dry cleaning on Monday afternoon and the day comes and goes without you tending to it. Well, the very next morning on Tuesday, the reminder will appear at the top of your calendar. Ignore it again, and it will reappear Wednesday morning in the same fashion, until the task is marked done and completed.
At that point, you can simply swipe the to-do item away and it's onto the next one on your list for the day.
Another useful function for the newly-added reminder feature is that if you set a reminder to call someone, Google Calendar automatically reaches into your contacts and pulls that person's number and address up to make the to-do task that much easier.
Reminders can also be created from Inbox, Keep, and Google Now, as they're even allowed to be recorded by voice in the latter with the company using, "Ok Google, remind me to buy birthday candles" as an example.
Now, you'll have no excuses for not getting your work done.
