Out of all of Microsoft's exclusives, Quantum Break continues to be the most mysterious. Despite an all-star cast and an intriguing plot premise, we know very little about how the game actually plays or the finer details of its story, and that's not even talking about how your choices in game will affect the Quantum Break live-action show that ties into the game.
It looks like developer Remedy wants to keep that aura of mystery a little longer, as it debuted a new trailer for the game at the Game Awards that doesn't exactly shed much light on their Xbox One exclusive.
Much of the trailer features Shawn Ashmore (Iceman from the X-Men films) running around, while the rest of the world stands still, asking viewers "what do you want to know?" before raising a number of potential questions, like how he gained super powers, how time broke and things all went to hell. The trailer ends with that same phrase, "what do you want to know?" almost as if Remedy is fully aware of how little we know about its game and is now teasing us.
That wouldn't be too surprising. It's likely Remedy is trying to keep its cards close to its chest on this one. Being such a narrative-driven game, Remedy might not want to give too much away about what exactly is going on in the world of Quantum Break. Though more details or flashier trailers might draw more attention to their title (which translates into more sales), Remedy seems confident handing out the bare minimum amount of information.
We knew just as much about Quantum Break before the new trailer as we do after. We can only hope that as Quantum Break approaches its April 15 release date that Remedy might finally explain what the heck is going on.
