Vehicle soccer video game Rocket League, published and developed by Psyonix, is finally coming to Microsoft's Xbox One in Feb. 2016.
Along with 16 battle cars, the Xbox One version of the game will feature the "HogSticker," a version of Halo's Warthog, and the "Armadillo" from Gears of War. It will also arrive with previously-released DLC packages and exclusive customization items.
Launched in July 2015 for PlayStation 4 (PS4) and PC, the arena-based game features single and multiplayer modes that can be played both online and offline. Rocket League is a sequel to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, which was released in October 2008.
Making Rocket League available for Microsoft's console should not come as a surprise to gamers. In August this year, Jeremy Dunham, the VP of marketing at Psyonix, confirmed that the studio was in the process of launching the game to other platforms.
"Yes, we are definitely bringing Rocket League to additional platforms," said Dunham. "We'll have an official announcement of what platforms those are (and when) a little further down the line."
Rocket League has attracted many gamers and has been well-received. Within the first 48 hours of its launch, the game was welcomed by more than 1.2 million players.
To our community: THANK YOU for an amazing launch! In just 48 hrs, over 1.2 Million Players have already joined Rocket League! Incredible!
At this year's Game Awards, the soccer phenomenon bagged the Best Independent Game Award, beating Undertale, Ori and the Blind Forest, Her Story, and Axiom verge.
