T-Mobile finally rolls out Android 5.1.1 Lollipop software update to its versions of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge at the IFA in September 2014. Both the phablets came running on Android 4.4. KitKat and now T-Mobile is rolling out Android 5.1 Lollipop software update to both the Samsung handsets.
The T-Mobile support page suggests that following the latest software update the Galaxy Note 4 software version will jump to N910TUVU2DOK2 or N910T3UVU1DOK2, and the Note Edge's software version to N915TUVU2COK2.
The latest Android 5.1 Lollipop will bring a number of new features and bug fixes to the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge. These smartphone on T-Mobile will also get Video Calling and Advanced Messaging as part of the latest software upgrade.
"This update provides Advanced Messaging and T-Mobile Video Calling. This update is available to download over W-Fi or via Samsung Smart Switch or Samsung Kies," per T-Mobile's support page.
T-Mobile initially rolled out Video Calling capability to the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus in early September this year. Other Samsung handsets such as the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge also received a software update soon that allowed video calling. T-Mobile also added that some more Samsung handsets will also get the Video Calling feature soon.
Similarly, T-Mobile announced Advanced Messaging feature in July this year; however, only a handful of devices supported the new feature. With Advanced Messaging users can see when others are typing, sharing of high-resolution images and more. Customers will now be happy that Advanced Messaging has been added in the latest software update for Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge.
T-Mobile is the latest carrier to bring Android 5.1 Lollipop to Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge. Sprint was the first carrier to roll out Android 5.1 Lollipop to its version of Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge followed by AT&T.
