George Lucas recently revealed that, as of a few weeks ago, he still hasn't seen the new Star Wars film, however, perhaps more interesting is the fact that there was something else he hasn't been devoting much of his time with — the Internet.
In fact, the extent of which Lucas has avoided the Internet is pretty astounding. Since 2000, he has almost completely avoided Facebook, Twitter and even email.
Of course, there's a reason for this. The Internet hasn't exactly been a friendly place for Lucas since rumors of the Star Wars prequels first began to surface. In the profile by the Washington Post, it mentions that Lucas avoids the Internet "partly so he doesn't have to read the worth about himself and his movies."
Here's the gist of things: The first film in the Star Wars prequels was The Phantom Menace. It came out 16 years ago. Lucas has been avoiding the Internet, according to him, for 15 years. So, if you've been a little more vocal than others about your dislike of the Star Wars prequels, you could be the reason Lucas isn't on Facebook yet.
