Sounding a bit like a gaming PC, the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is rumored to run on a 16-core processor and a 4K display. It will even be stocked with the gaming PC minimum of 8 GB of RAM, if the reports are true.
Despite Samsung having just launched the Galaxy Note 5, rumors are already swirling around about a successor to the phablet. The Galaxy Note 6 is expected to arrive in the third quarter of 2016 and is said to be loaded.
The Galaxy Note 6 will allegedly boast a 30 MP rear camera and a 16 MP selfie cam. Some reports put that selfie cam at a more contemporary 7 MP.
It'll have a foldable 4K display, at either 6 or 6.2 inches, and will feature fast-charging technology, which is expected to deliver a 40 percent charge in just four minutes. The phone will also support wireless charging, because that's something Samsung seems to really lagging behind on.
For biometrics and Samsung Pay, the Note 6 will include a fingerprint scanner. And it'll also include either a retina or an iris scanner.
Elsewhere inside of the Galaxy Note 6, there will be a ton of sensors. The handset's sensors will include a barometer, thermometer, a compass and a SP02 oxygen sensor for blood pressure and a sensor for heart rate. The phone will be both dust- and shock-proof.
The Note 6 will have a robust 4,200 mAh battery and will be available in storage configurations of 16, 32, 64, 128 and 256 GB. As for the price, the new Note is expected to cost about $1,100 USD.
The Note 5 was just launched last August. The new Note's 6- or 6.2-inch display would be significantly larger than the Note 5's 5.7 inch face, but it'd still correspond to what Samsung Electronics CEO JK Shin called an effort to produce phones with larger screens to provide users with "a better viewing experience and more productivity on the go."
