Customers who are thinking of picking up Sony's Xperia Z3+ smartphone or Xperia Z4 tablet will have an additional reason to do so if they are PlayStation gamers, as Sony has released an offer that ties in the Xperia devices with the PlayStation Store.
Sony is offering United States customers, who purchased either the Xperia Z3+ or Xperia Z4, a $50 credit at the PlayStation store if the devices are purchased through BHPhotoVideo or Amazon between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31.
Customers who made the purchase can access the dedicated website created by Sony for the offer to redeem their PlayStation Store credit. Redemption is valid until after 30 days from the time of purchase of the Xperia Z3+ or Xperia Z4.
To ensure that the redemption will push through validation, customers will have to fill out a redemption form online and send pictures of the sales receipt for the two eligible Xperia devices, along with the IMEI number that is located on the sides of the boxes. Redemption forms should be submitted by 11:59 PM EST on Jan. 31, 2016, to be able to take advantage of the offer.
The $50 worth of PlayStation Store credit will be sent to customers through a code contained in an e-mail once the purchase has been validated.
Both the Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 feature PlayStation 4 Remote Play capabilities that would allow gamers to switch from playing on their PlayStation 4 console and Xperia devices seamlessly. This feature would explain why Sony decided to combine the Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 with the PlayStation Store for the promotion.
The Xperia Z5, Sony's latest flagship device, is not widely available in the United States. It remains to be seen if the smartphone will be added to the offer if it goes up for sale in the country within the offer period.
