In a new promo released by ABC for the second season of Agent Carter, Peggy (Hayley Atwell) and Jarvis (James D'Arcy) make their way to sunny California for a new adventure.
This promo teases that the two will find a new case to take on, one much larger than they originally believed. Can Peggy rescue California before it "goes to hell in a handbasket?"
"Before the Avengers, Before S.H.I.E.L.D.," the video teases. "The original Marvel team is back."
Here's the official description for season 2 of Agent Carter:
"Marvel's Agent Carter returns for a second season of adventure and intrigue, starring Hayley Atwell in the titular role of the unstoppable agent for the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve). Dedicated to the fight against new Atomic Age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home - and perhaps even a new love - she's about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect."
Peggy has a new attitude in season two of the series, finally having moved on from the death of Steve Rogers, aka Captain America.
"Peggy's in quite a different place," said Atwell at Wizard World St. Louis Comic Con earlier this year. "She's not grieving as much. It's not as raw for her to have lost Steve. I think we'll see much more light, warmth and humor. But I think there will also be something very like L.A. Confidential, the film noir, the very glamorous L.A. life with that sort of dark underbelly of L.A. in the '40s."
Of course, Peggy won't arrive in Hollywood alone: Jarvis plans on joining her there. As Jarvis works for Howard Stark, moving him to L.A. involved writing a small plot detail where Howard Stark plans on investing in his own movie studio.
D'Arcy recently teased that at least one of the pair, though, won't enjoy the Hollywood lifestyle.
"We can probably speculate that one of us likes the sunshine and one of us probably doesn't, and that one of us probably enjoys hanging round with movie stars and one of us probably doesn't," said the actor to Digital Spy.
Agent Carter season 2 arrives on January 5 on ABC.
