Microsoft To Launch Lumia 950, 950 XL In India On Nov. 30: Report

Microsoft has sent invites for the launch of the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL in India.

Reports suggest that Microsoft has sent invites to Windows Insiders based in India. According to the invite, Microsoft is organizing an event in New Delhi and Mumbai on Monday, Nov. 30, where the company will showcase the latest Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL smartphones.

Both the handsets are one of the first Windows smartphones that will come running on Windows 10 Mobile. Visitors at the event will be among the few in the country to test the new phones.

"Be one of the first to get a hands-on look at these new devices, discover new Windows 10 features and chat with Microsoft experts about all the exciting details. Enjoy a live demo of Continuum for Phones and watch the Lumia 950 and 950 XL turn an external screen into a PC-like experience," per the Microsoft invite.

At the event, Microsoft will also demonstrate its new Display Dock that can be used to turn the new Windows smartphones into a PC. Users can connect their Lumia 950 or the Lumia 950 XL to the dock and then connect the dock to a monitor. Users can also connect a QWERTY keyboard and a mouse to get the entire PC experience.

In the U.S., the dock has a price tag of $99. However, in India, Microsoft is offering the Display Dock for free to customers who buy one of the handsets at the launch event.

The Lumia 950 sports a 5.2-inch display while the Lumia 950 XL touts a 5.7-inch screen. The display of both the mobile phones has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz powers the Lumia 950 and a 2 GHz Snapdragon 810 processor powers the Lumia 950 XL. Both the handsets have 3 GB of RAM.

Both the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL are equipped with 20MP primary and 5MP selfie cameras. The mobile phones have 32 GB of internal storage and customers can expand the storage capacity to a further 200 GB with a microSD card.

Microsoft has not revealed the price of the Lumia 950 or the Lumia 950 XL in India, which means customers will have to wait until Nov. 30 to find the exact price of the new Lumia phones.
