Samsung has launched another budget smartphone in China called the Galaxy J3, and it is quite similar in specs to the Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy On5 that was released in India earlier this month.
The device comes with a decent enough 5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. There's also a quad-core processor inside this beauty, and it runs at 1.2GHz. In terms of RAM, the Galaxy J3 comes with 1.5 GB and a built-in memory of 8 GB. And worry not because it does support the installation of a microSD card to increase storage.
On the matter of the camera, this device comes with two of them. On the back, there is an 8-megapixel shooter and on the front we have a 5-megapixel shooter for taking selfies and making video calls with friends and families. No information is available on whether or not these cameras can take HD videos and on the full resolution of the photos taken.
There's also a big 2,600 mAh battery inside the Galaxy J3. This is surprising because budget smartphones do not usually come with AMOLED displays and 2,600 mAh batteries. It makes us wonder about the cost, something we are unable to talk about because Samsung has yet to reveal it.
As expected, this handset is powered by Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Samsung has incorporated its own TouchWiz UX on top of it, and there is also the ability to uninstall all preloaded apps. Samsung has decided to preload 72 yuan worth of games, which is around $11.
The phone will be available exclusively through China Telecom, though it is not yet certain if Samsung plans on releasing it in other countries after China.
