Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 Officially Teased Ahead Of Nov. 24 Unveiling

On Nov. 24, Xiaomi plans to announce new gadgets during its "Grand Finale" event. The Redmi Note 2 Pro handset is on the guest list, and it now seems that the Mi Pad 2 tablet will be as well.

Lin Bin, the CEO of Xiaomi, teased the oncoming smartphone multiple times in the last weeks, making it a sure presence at the company's event. Based on the latest teaser, the upcoming handset will sport a fingerprint sensor.

Further boosting excitement ahead of the big event, Lin Bin added to the string of teasers and posted a new image of the Mi Pad 2 tablet, or at least part of it. Although how the slate will look like in all its splendor is currently unknown, we can draw some conclusions from the trimmed image that Lin Bin posted on Weibo.

First of all, it's visible that the Mi Pad 2 has a clean design line and a metallic body, suggesting a quality build. The power button and volume rocker are located on the right-hand side of the device, and the teaser further shows a rear camera in the upper right corner. According to the image, no flash accompanies the rear-facing camera. One reason for this might reside in the general dimensions of the tablet, which promises to be more than 7.9 inches wide.

Geekbench recently showed the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 tablet on its site, posting detailed information about its specs. Based on that listing, the Mi Pad 2 will sport a quad-core, Intel X5-Z8500 SoC that operates at 2.24 GHz. The processing power has support from 2 GB of RAM. Some rumors said that Xiaomi was thinking about releasing two models of Mi Pad 2 with one featuring up to 3 GB of RAM, but we need to see it to believe it.

The display size can be as large as nine or ten inches, based on the overall proportions of the tablet. At some point, sources claimed that Windows 10 will be pre-installed to Mi Pad 2, but updated info shows that Android will provide the tablet's OS.

The specifications of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 remain unconfirmed for now, but it should all become clear on Nov. 24.
