Apple Watch users can finally charge their wearable without having to fuss with its cable. Apple launched its Magnetic Charging Dock on its website on Wednesday, Nov. 18, for a retail price of $79.
Looking like a pillow that can power up the watch, the new charging station consists of a round base that features a magnetic charging puck in the center. Since the charging puck is already built-in, users won't need to worry about using their Watch charging cable that came with the device.
Users can either place their Watch flat with the band open to charge, or in the upright position.
The new accessory is ideal for users who want to use the Nightstand mode that was introduced in watchOS 2. Now the Watch will be held in place while turned on its side, and will still be charging while you sleep. Just set your alarm, and place the dock on your bedside table. By the time you wake up the next morning, your wearable will be fully powered to last for the day.
The Magnetic Charging Dock can charge both the 38-mm and 42-mm models, and comes with a Lightning to USB cable that plugs into the back.
The Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock is now available to purchase on the company's website for $79—which could be a steep price for an accessory no matter how elegant looking or convenient it is. Those who order today can expect deliveries on Friday, Nov. 20.
The Magnetic Charging Dock will go on sale in Apple's retail stores starting on Nov. 20.
