Toyota has given theSienna family minivan a facelift with a number of new parent-friendly features.
On Thursday, July 17, the Japanese carmaker introduced the new Sienna van, which has a refreshed and redesigned interior. The inside of the car is more family-focused and gives parents greater control of their children in the back seat.
"Today's parents are embracing their life stage and those relatable family moments that make us laugh and feel connected," says Jack Hollis, vice president of Toyota Division marketing at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. "The 2015 Toyota Sienna seizes that same spirit of fun, everyday experiences with family and fits into the modern family dynamic. That is why Toyota chose to introduce the newest 'Swagger Wagon' to the world through a creative lens."
The new "Driver Easy Speak" feature of the car allows the driving parent to amplify their voice via the rear speakers using a built-in microphone so that they do not have to shout at their kids in the back seat. The feature only works from the front seat, which means that kids at the back seats will not be able to amplify their voice, unless they yell.
The 2015 Sienna also comes with an optional pull-down conversation mirror, which allows the driver to check on the back seat passengers without turning their head.
The 2015 Sienna will also include something special for the kids. Back seat passengers can keep themselves busy and entertained with the Blu-Ray rear seat entertainment system. Being a family car, the Toyota 2015 Sienna focuses on safety and includes eight airbags, which is one more than the previous version of the van.
The car will come with a standard panoramic rear-view camera. Options will include a 7-inch touch display infotainment system, leather upholstery and a 4.2-inch information display that brings the navigation system of the minivan closer to its driver for best and convenient view.
The company has not made any changes to the engine of the car. Just like the 2014 Sienna, the upcoming model will have the 3.5-liter V6 engine with six-speed automatic transmission. Customers will have the option to buy the front wheel drive or the all wheel drive model.
The 2015 Sienna is expected to reach the stores this fall, but Toyota is yet to reveal the pricing for the minivan.
