The predecessor of the LG G4 i.e. the LG G3, is gearing up to get a taste of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software update in December.
The LG G3 is currently languishing on Android Lollipop and the impending software update will bring the smartphone to the latest Marshmallow OS.
Earlier in October, we reported that LG was allegedly poised to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for three variants of the LG G3 i.e. the F400S, F400K and F400L.
Now, per a report from Poland-based publication Tablety, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the LG G3 is already in the final stage of testing and is poised to be rolled out by mid-December.
"If you own the LG G3, we have good news for you. The manufacturer has already tested for you Android 6.0 Marshmallow and if everything goes according to plan, the upgrade should get in mid-December," notes the report.
The publication claims that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be pushed out for the LG G3 between Dec. 16 to Dec. 18. The site also reveals that like successor LG G4, the Android Marshmallow software update for the LG G3 will first be pushed out in Poland, with other countries following suit.
LG Poland's Jaroslaw Bukowski also took to Twitter to share that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software update for the LG G3 was prepared and the roll out remained.
With the LG G3 set to make the jump from Android Lollipop to Marshmallow, users of the older smartphone will soon be able to take advantage of new features and enhancements the latest OS brings.
Some of the features LG G3 users can look forward to post the update are the Doze mode and Google Now on Tap.
