CBS has decided to shuffle some Prime time episodes for “Supergirl” and “NCIS: LA” following the real-world events in Paris which would hit too close to the themes of the episodes.
Initially, the “Supergirl” episode entitled, “How Does She Do It?” was scheduled to air on Monday at 8 p.m. However, the plot of the episode surrounded a series of bombing around the fictional locale of National City, so the network announced on Monday that they would replace it with a Thanksgiving themed episode instead.
“Defectors,” Monday night's episode of “NCIS: LA” will also be postponed as the theme of terrorism is the main focus of the episode as well. In it, the NCIS team of LA would be tracking down a young woman who was recruited by a terrorist organization. It will be replaced with “The Long Goodbye,” an episode where L.L. Cool J's character, Sam Hanna, searches for a missing woman whom he helped gain asylum status in the U.S.
CBS has issued a statement that the decision to shuffle around the programming was made out of “sensitivity” to the attacks in Paris and to honor the victims of the bombings and shootings last Friday.
According to previews of the “Supergirl” episode “Livewire” which will be aired instead of “How Does She Do It?” the hour will revolve around the relationship between Kara and her foster mother, Helen Slater, whom many would remember also played "Supergirl" in the 1984 movie.
The episode will also feature the villain, Livewire, after whom the episode was named after.
The CBS network has not mentioned any plans or dates for when or even if the shuffled episodes will be aired.
