Paris Under Attack: ISIS Supporters Celebrate On Twitter As More Than 100 Killed, Others Held Hostage

President Francois Hollande has declared a national state of emergency in France, closing off its borders on Friday, Nov. 13. More than 100 people are reported to have been killed in a series of bomb and gun attacks in Paris.

The deadliest attack occurred at the Bataclan concert hall, where French police report more than 100 people were killed and dozens others were taken hostage. Early reports claimed the police were able to breach the site and take down two attackers.

Other attacks happened at the Stade de France, where it is believed that suicide bombs were used during an international football match between France and Germany. Other people were killed and injured in the 10th district near the Le Petit Cambodge and Le Carillon restaurants.

Residents were advised to stay home, and 1,500 military personnel have been mobilized in the city.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron on Twitter called the event shocking, promising to do "whatever we can to help."

U.S. President Barack Obama expressed his sentiments on the matter, calling it "an outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians." Russian President Vladimir Putin also extended his condolences.

However, supporters of the Islamic State also went on the social media platform, celebrating the attacks. To spread the word, they have been using the hashtag #ParisIsBurning. Some have been using an Arabic hashtag, which roughly translates to "Paris is in flames," where some of those tweets have pictures of the scenes where the shootings took place.

Some alleged supporters of ISIS tweet "Allahu Akbar" or "God is great."

A video on Twitter has been shared extensively for its graphic nature, showing the state of some of the victims. A woman is seen holding on to her leg, followed by what seems to be a pool of blood right behind.
