Other devices that are already updated with Android 5.1.1 include Nexus devices (Nexus 4, Nexus, 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7-2013, Nexus 7, Nexus 9 and Nexus 10); Motorola devices (Moto X-2014, Moto X, Moto G-2014, Moto G and Moto E); LG devices (LG G3 and LG G Flex 2); Sony devices (Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z Tablet, Xperia ZR, Xperia ZL and Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition); and the OnePlus One device.
The update, which has its build number as MY47X.G870AUCU2COJ3, weighs in at 640MB. This means that users would have to make sure that they have a strong WiFi connection in order to have a successful download of the update. The latest version promises to deliver a number of important bug fixes for the Galaxy S5 Active. It also adds the feature known as Android for Work. Lastly, the update features a fix to Ultra Power Saving Mode which is particularly useful for those who are using On Device Encryption on their devices.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Active features a rugged design structure that emphasizes the handset's dustproof, water-resistant and shockproof capabilities. It's built with a 5.1-inch full HD Super AMOLED display and boasts a 16MP camera that allows the handset to capture high quality images.
"Built for an active lifestyle, the Galaxy S5 Active is dustproof, shock- and water-resistant, and ready for whatever comes its way. Equipped with an IP67 rating and certified to meet a series of demanding military standard specifications, this rugged smartphone is designed to withstand the rigors of your workout and your world," said AT&T in a blog post.
