In 'Arrow' Sneak Peek, Ray Palmer Reaches Out To Oliver And Felicity

As Arrow gears up to bring characters back to life for its spin-off series Legends of Tomorrow, fans have questions about the whereabouts of Ray Palmer, aka The Atom (Brandon Routh).

Thanks to last week's episode, though, which resurrected Sara (Caity Lotz) and set her on the path to becoming the White Canary for Legends, we also learned that Ray Palmer isn't dead, as suggested in last season's finale.

Instead, a new clip released from tonight's episode shows that Ray's fate took him somewhere else and that not only is alive, but he's also in trouble, thanks to a glitch with his super suit. In this clip, Ray contacts Oliver and Felicity and asks for their help.

Please note that the following contains a spoiler for tonight's episode of Arrow. Watch at your own risk.

So it seems that not only did Ray survive the events of Arrow's last season, but his suit shrunk him down so that he basically became the DC equivalent of Ant-Man. And now, Ray needs the help of Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) to return him to normal size, as well as help him escape from whoever it is that holds him captive.

Of course, it's probably no big secret that the person holding Ray against his will is this season's bad guy, Damien Dahrk (Neil McDonough), who wants Ray's Atom suit for himself.

There's something else, too: Ray is Felicity's ex-boyfriend. That means that this situation could cause some tension between her and Oliver, who is her boyfriend now.

This new episode, titled "Lost Souls," also sees the return of Felicity's mother, Donna (Charlotte Ross) to Star City. Donna stayed in touch with Oliver on the phone and feels a need to see him in person now that he's officially dating her daughter. That means that this episode also gives out new details about Felicity's family.

"You definitely learn a bit more about my relationship with Felicity's father," said Ross to TVLine. "You already know that he didn't treat me well, that he wasn't nice - but to what degree of how bad or evil was, we really don't know. But as her relationship [with Felicity] progresses, the conversations can get a bit more scary, more intimate for them. Donna has a lot of experience to share with her, and in that she can also talk about what it was like to be with her father."

Arrow airs on The CW on Wednesday nights.
