A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, an encounter between Han Solo and bounty hunter Greedo happened in the Mos Eisly Cantina. Today in the Milky Way Galaxy, we know that Han shot first but twenty years later, Greedo took the first shot and this has been argued ever since. Well, at least until now when you can always determine who will take the first shot with Han Solo's blaster replica.
Han's blaster is no ordinary weapon because Insignificant Fish (IF) Industries conceptualized the replica as a flask which can hold 4.4 ounces (or a shot) of the beverage of your choice. It looks like an ordinary blaster but the only blast you'll get is one that from geeky happiness over its purpose.
IF Industries is an online shop that operates on Etsy and it is widely known to be the haven of geeky but glorious items such as Pac-Man and Ghost hoodies, 007 GoldenEye Remote & Proximity Mine Belt Buckles and the NES Belt Buckles. The company shared the concept item it called "'First Shot' DL4.4oz Blaster Flask" in its website on Nov.9, along with several photos and animated gifs of how it would work.
And just how does this glorious side arm thing work? It looks like a blaster but the silver barrel can be unscrewed to serve as a shot glass while the "weapon's" body holds your poison of choice. After you take the first shot with this side arm, you can actually take two more because the shot barrel has a 1.5-ounce capacity.
The blaster flask is still filed under IF Industries' "concept" label so it is unclear when the item will be made available or if the company is currently working on it. Likewise, there is no word whether it would be licensed as official "Star Wars" merchandise.
