Among the fans of Mass Effect, Electronic Arts and BioWare, Nov. 7 is known as N7 day. The date is when the N7 solider training program began in the Mass Effect Universe, and it is also the day a new trailer for Andromeda graced the Web.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is the next chapter in the popular franchise that has garnered millions of fans ever since the release of the first game, but more so, the second. The trailer had us listening to the female version of Commander Shepard narrating, confirming once and for all that this new game will have a new hero.
The speech given by Shepard comes off as a farewell speech, which could mean we may never see the character in action again. The trailer also shows what appears to be the possible ship the players will be using. Interestingly enough, it looks like something that shares characteristics typical of both Reaper and Citadel Technology.
The whole design screams the future, which suggests to us that the game is set long after the final events of Commander Shepard.
Some folks have stated that the ship is something similar to an ark for humans. It is possible the ship is one of the last safe havens for humanity due to the Reaper war that took place in Mass Effect 3. Several folks on NeoGaf and Reddit have come up with this idea, but they could be wrong.
Inside the cockpit of the ship, there's a dog tag that seems to say "Ryder." This could suggest to us the possible name of our new hero, or it could be someone else entirely. Furthermore, the song used in the E3 2015 trailer is called, "Ghost Riders in the Sky." Again, the word "Rider" is referenced, so we are almost certain this is the name of our hero.
Mass Effect: Andromeda will hit the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One come Holiday 2016.
