It seems as though Jon Stewart's break is over. The comedian most famous for his work on The Daily Show has announced that he has signed a four-year production deal with HBO, which will see him focusing on short-form digital content for HBO Go and HBO Now.
The deal also sees him having a window to produce other film and TV content down the road.
"I'm so excited to be working with Richard [Plepler], Michael and the entire HBO family," said Stewart in a statement. "Appearing on television 22 minutes a night clearly broke me. I'm pretty sure I can produce a few minutes of content every now and again."
According to the press release, Stewart will "view current events through his unique prism," which probably means that he will continue looking at political events and other news. It's not yet known if we'll see him behind the desk again, or if the format of his new work will be similar to his previous work.
Jon Stewart first began his work on The Daily Show back in 1999, stepping down from a 15-year long run on the show earlier this year. Stewart has won a variety of awards and has written a number of books.
