Life-Sized Remote-Controlled Moving R2-D2 Fridge Will Cost Star Wars Fans $8,000

Star Wars fans have been eagerly awaiting not just the release of "The Force Awakens," but also the reveal of the official price of one of the coolest Star Wars-related merchandise to hit the shelves. Teased back in June, a remote-controlled, moving R2-D2 mini fridge would have been the perfect addition to any night in chilling with some brew-skies while holding marathons of the "Star Wars" trilogies for the nth time.

The good news is, the price has finally been revealed and the R2-D2 Fridge is now available for pre-order. The bad news is, it will set back your "Star Wars" memorabilia budget by $8,000. I wonder if they will take Galactic Credits. How about Republic Credits? Or Bottlecaps?

But even Jabba The Hutt knew that R2's full potential was not explored by the Rebel Alliance and immediately got him to work serving drinks on his barge. Who are we to put a price tag on letting the little droid that could do what he was called to do?

Kidding aside, the crazy expensive R2-D2 remote controlled fridge can deliver up to six cold beers straight to your couch. The life sized astro-mech droid may not be able to repair that starship you've got hidden in your garage, but it's got lights and bleeping sounds that will make him feel like the real deal.

Just like any familiar friend, he will deliver your cold beer right to you, provided you don't forget to charge his remote control batteries.

Currently only available for pre-order in Japan, "Star Wars" fans lucky enough (and with deep enough pockets) to get their very own moving R2-D2 mini-fridge will likely be some of the lucky few who will have bragging rights to this really cool, albeit pricey droid.

But I guess we can also wait for the inevitable DIY-ers to post instructions on YouTube on how to build one for ourselves for a lower price tag, right?
