It has been a rough year for Hulk Hogan since World Wrestling Entertainment cut ties with him and cleared any mention of the pro-wrestling great throughout its history this past July due to a racist recording.
A much better year for Hogan was 1998, as evidenced by his World Championship Wrestling contract from that year that was posted on Reddit this week. After dominating the ranks at rival WWE for years, Hogan still had plenty of muscle to flex in WCW, with the proof being in the lucrative contract he was given from Ted Turner's then-organization. Every top talent was being generously paid by billionaire Turner, who owned WCW, but Hogan's numbers jump right off the page.
According to the contract on Reddit, Hogan was paid a $2 million signing bonus and raked in 25 percent of the ticket revenue from any Nitro or Thunder event that he participated in — with a minimum set at $25,000.
Wait ... there's more. Hogan was also paid $20,000 monthly for continuing to be a part of the evil faction the nWo. Remember, Hogan's red and yellow-adorned outfit was the antithesis of the devious ways of the New World Order ... and in retrospect, Hulk probably wanted to get fully compensated for agreeing to see the other side.
If all that wasn't enough, Hogan also cashed in on 15 percent of all pay-per-view sales — again, with a minimum set, this time of a whopping $675,000.
For the kicker, Hogan also signed on to collect up to 50 percent of profits from any of his merchandise.
The entire contract can be viewed on Reddit.
