Apple EarPods Also Sees USB-C Update for the Wired Audio Experience—How Much?
Wired or wireless for audio? This massive debate is still something that many are arguing about, but do not worry Apple fans, the company has recently released its wired EarPods that feature USB-C connections. While this is something that was a long shot from the company as it has been focused on its wireless Bluetooth earphones, the iconic wired earphones are not forgotten.
The EarPods are an icon to many, and despite being long removed from Apple's iPhone package, many are still buying them separately from the company.
Apple EarPods See USB-C Update, For How Much?
Apple has revealed the latest joiner to its USB-C switch, and this is the updated version of the EarPods, the famed wired earphones from the company which is also the known design inspiration for the AirPods 1 and 2. The wired EarPods is also letting go of its Lightning Connector which has been what Apple has offered since 2016 when it introduced the iPhone 7.
With the new iPhone 15, USB-C is in and Lightning connectors are out, and this trend also applies to the EarPods.
This is despite Apple releasing an updated AirPods Pro 2 that also came with a USB-C charging case with MagSafe support.
EarPods or AirPods with USB-C?
Apple offers the EarPods for only $19.00, and it is still an affordable one from the company, already offering USB-C connections so that users no longer need to buy a dongle.
The EarPods is still a good contender to the AirPods as it does not have interference and latency as it is wired, and users do not need to worry about its charge.
However, it is only compatible with the semi-latest updates from Apple, also working with the likes of Mac, iPad, and iPhones.
Apple's Iconic EarPods
Apple's EarPods have seen changes over the years, but these are still the iconic wired earphones that were best paired with the iPod series and were also part of the earlier iPhones' box. However, back in 2021, Apple changed the box for the iPhone, and with it, it also saw the EarPods not being part of the package, as well as the wall adapter for charging.
Several regions and countries have revolted against Apple with their decision to remove the EarPods from the box, and the company faced massive controversy. France has demanded the iPhone 13 have the wired earphones to come with the package, and it is among the countries that have it available on every purchase.
The EarPods changed from its regular 3.5mm audio jack to a Lightning Connector as Apple removed the audio input from the iPhone 7 series.
Now, it is making another change, with Apple not forgetting about the cheap and renowned wired earphones that have been in development for a long time.
Users who still prefer to use the white and wired EarPods from Apple may fetch it from the Apple Store, both its physical and online shops, for only $19, updated with a USB-C out for the new iPhone.
