A report from IGN stated that Valve added two new charts in the Steam store, real-time and weekly sales and players. The store removes a section to give way for these new inclusions.
Yes, Steam Stats will be replaced by Steam Charts, which will list down the store's most popular and most purchased in a much-improved way than before.
Steam Stats focuses on top games that were played by the player of the account, as the company released a statement via the Steam website.
Steam Charts and its Functions
The newest section can be accessed on the main page right now. A 'most-played moment-to-moment by player count was also indicated below this new section.
The charts will be changed weekly based on the players on Steam players and details about games such as weeks after their release, price, and if it's sale or not. Changing the charts' region for regional best-sellers is also possible.
This list will base on the revenued game, which means that free-to-play games that have microtransactions, downloadable contents, and more will be included in the list if they make the cut.
The company stated, "Traditionally our top sellers charts have only included revenue from premium game purchases, but that was obscuring the hugely popular free or inexpensive games in which players purchase season passes, huge expansions, or other forms of new content,"
