As far as promotional stunts go, this one is, well, uniquely T-Mobile. The magenta carrier's boss John Legere has made it abundantly clear that nothing is safe if his one-executive war against the top-tier of wireless providers - a list that now includes the skies over Verizon's offices.
The company sent out a note this morning offering a small head's up that the latest stage in its Abolish Overages involved at least one prop plane tasked with writing messages above the competition's offices in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. According to T-Mobile's press materials,
The skywriters are there to send a message on behalf of hundreds of thousands of consumers who called for the end to the deplorable practice of overages in the wireless industry.
The aforementioned hundreds of thousands of people includes 325,000 names on a Change.org petition commissioned by Legere seeking to end overage penalties for consumers. The exec then took to social media to figure out how to send the message.
The plane took off at 10AM ET this morning to impart T-Mobile's semi-legible message.
