The next-generation Motorola Droids for Verizon are widely expected to make their official debut on Tuesday, Oct. 27, boasting impressive specs and features all around. Motorola's Droid lineup has enjoyed great popularity so far and the Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2 will take things to the next level.
The two handsets have already leaked on several occasions so far and are shaping up as powerful contenders on the highly-competitive smartphone market. The Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will arrive as the world's first "shatterproof" smartphone, as a leaked Verizon brochure recently revealed. The same brochure also boasted a 48-hour battery life for the Droid Maxx 2.
As the Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2 are edging closer to making their official debut, more tidbits of information are now coming to light. A new press render now shows both the front and back of the upcoming Droids, offering a better look at their design and colors.
More specifically, trusted tipster Evan Blass (@EvLeaks) posted a new image on Friday, Oct. 23, revealing three front and back options for the Droid Turbo 2 and two front and back options for the Droid Maxx 2.
Earlier this week, Verizon already started teasing the "shatterproof" Droid Turbo 2 as the "perfect phone for imperfect people," using the tagline "the new Droid is dropping soon," and just the other day it posted another clip teasing that "your expectations will be shattered."
The Droid Maxx 2, meanwhile, is expected to be similar to the Moto X Play, offering the aforementioned two-day battery life among the highlights.
Verizon will also kick off a trade-in program for customers interested in the latest Droids, offering up to $300 in exchange for other smartphones. Verizon will even allow users to trade in a phone with a cracked screen toward the purchase of the Droid Turbo 2, further emphasizing the shatterproof display of the upcoming powerhouse.
The exact specs and features of the upcoming Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2 are yet to be officially confirmed, but the formal unveiling is just around the corner and we'll soon get the official scoop straight from the source, so stay tuned.
