Samsung officially launched two new budget-friendly smartphone options in China, the Galaxy On5 and On7.
Since the new Galaxy phones come at a more affordable price, consumers can expect slight compromises in the hardware. Still, the hardware is decent for being options best-suited for those on a tighter budget.
The Galaxy On5 is not yet listed on the Samsung China website, but it is mentioned in a promotional image for the On7, so the specs as of now are still rumors.
The On5 has a 5-inch, the On7 a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen, and both phones are powered with an Exynos 3475 processor with 1.5 GB of RAM. Both devices run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, with 8 GB of internal storage and support for microSD cards for more storage.
The Galaxy On7 as a 13-megapixel f/2.1 rear-facing camera and 5-megapixel f/2.2 front-facing camera, with the On5 expected to have a 5-megapixel rear camera instead. Samsung Milk Music, which provides streaming of online radio stations for free, will be one of the preinstalled apps on the devices.
The On7 has a 3,000 mAh battery, the On5 a 2,600 mAh battery and supports China's 4G FDD LTE networks. The smartphone measures in at 151.8 x 77.5 x 8.2 mm and weighs 172 g, just over 6 ounces. The measurements for the Galaxy On5 are not yet known.
Both phones have a sleek design that resembles other Galaxy devices.
The price for these Samsung options is unknown at this time, but since they are entry-level devices, they are expected to be more affordable. Both the Galaxy On5 and On7 are expected to launch outside of China in the near future.
