‘Until Dawn’ Rush Of Blood DLC Can Be Played In Virtual Reality With PlayStation VR: Report

The hit survival horror video game Until Dawn may be slated to receive a VR-compatible DLC, reports say.

While the title does not give justice to the enjoyment of the game, the DLC seems like a promising new edge to it, especially if it comes out in an on-rails first-person shooter version.

According to a report, Sony is presently conducting market testing, based in the UK, on a DLC piece of Until Dawn, under the tentative title Rush of Blood.

The email contained a descriptive gameplay that leaked information about the DLC being an on-rails shooter experience. The player (also the email source) becomes mobile by being transported inside a mine cart. Several jump scares are scattered throughout the game, but this is expected, said the source. Meanwhile, no character names were mentioned and the source was uncertain as regards the character played.

The gameplay started off shooting targets in a snowy setting. The player then entered a house, where enemies (claimed to be Wendigos) began to appear. The most frequent jump scare is a ghost, who was also part of Until Dawn. The player claimed to have fought the said ghost for the final area.

Given Until Dawn's success in terms of sales, it doesn't come as a surprise that Sony wants to produce DLC for the game. However, the email paints a significant departure from the heart of the game.

First off, in contrast to the on-rails shooter described in the email, the original Until Dawn is highly dependent on player choice to alter the events of the story, making it admirable as regards game design. Second, apart from the setting and enemies, Rush of Blood doesn't even come close to what gamers expect, given that it is an expansion of Until Dawn.

All is yet to be determined until Sony comments on the surfaced second independent source email.
