Mythbusters To End After One Final Season: Here Are The Best Myths Tackled On The Show

A report has confirmed that science entertainment TV program "Mythbusters" will come to an end after one last season.

The show, which piloted in 2003, is one of Discovery Channel's most popular and longest running programs. It uses the experimental approach to draw into two or more popular beliefs, rumors — myths, as the title suggests, and at the end of the episodes classifies each of the myths as either "busted," "plausible" or "confirmed."

Created by Peter Rees and hosted by special effects experts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, the show has explored myth topics that range from rocket cars to creamer cannons.

"'Mythbusters' is — and will always be — an incredibly important part of Discovery's history. Adam and Jamie are enormous talents who have brought learning and science to the forefront of this network, and their legacy will continue to live on over at Science Channel," said Rich Ross, group president of Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Science Channel.

In 2016, the show's library will be moved to Discovery's sister network. To take one last trip down "Mythbuster" memory lane, here are ten memorable myths tackled by the dynamic duo.

1. Jawsome Shark Special
