Dodge Challenger SRT boasts 707HP, most powerful muscle car ever

Chrysler's 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT boasts 707 horsepower (HP), which not only makes it the most powerful Dodge Challenger ever, but also the most powerful car to go in the company's production history.

The Dodge Challenger is marketed by the Dodge division in Chrysler. The current third-generation car was introduced by the company in 2006, which went into production in 2008. The present generation Dodge Challenger gives competition to the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro and the fifth-generation Ford Mustang.

"The new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is the ultimate performance muscle car," said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO - Dodge Brand, Chrysler Group LLC, in May this year. "Dodge is the Mainstream Performance brand, and now combined with SRT, we are able to unleash a true GT car with an all-new driver-focused interior and the TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission combined with the most powerful V-8 Chrysler has ever produced. The Challenger Hellcat has been released!"

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT will boast a 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat engine, which produces 707HP and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. The upcoming car will be "Dodge's most powerful V-8 ever and the most powerful muscle car ever."

On Tuesday, July 1, Chrysler issued a statement that says that the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT will come with two key fobs: red and black. With the red key fob owners will be able to unlock the full engine potential of the car producing 707HP. However, the black key fob will limit its driver to get a maximum engine output of just 500HP.

The upcoming Challenger has also been redesigned and re-engineered to keep abreast with the current market requirements so that it can give stiff competition to any other car in its category. The car includes a new TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission and the interiors of the vehicle have been inspired by the 1971 Challenger.

"The Dodge and SRT brands now offer the most complete lineup of muscle cars in the market, including the new 2015 Dodge Challenger SXT with its standard powerful and fuel-efficient Pentastar V-6 engine combined with the TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission that delivers 300 horsepower and an estimated 30 miles per gallon; the 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T with the high-torque 5.7-liter HEMI now paired with the TorqueFlite eight-speed or six-speed manual transmission; and the all-new 6.4-liter HEMI Challenger Scat Pack that delivers 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque with the TorqueFlite eight-speed or six-speed manual," per a company statement.

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT will make their way to Dodge dealers in Q3 2014.
