There's a good chance that, if you've been playing Destiny lately, you've noticed that Hunters have been a bit ... off as of late.
Well, there's a reason for that. Supers, for the most part, are either a strategic movie or a last resort: they're a tool to be used when your team needs it or when you need to get out of trouble. They're extremely powerful, there's no denying that, but their effects are so short-lived that knowing when to use them is half the battle ... however, thanks to an exploit introduced in the last Destiny patch, Hunters haven't really had to worry about that.
The Nightstalker subclass (the one with the pretty purple bow, for anyone who hasn't kept up with the game) features a modifier called "Quiver." Basically, instead of firing one super-powered shot, Quiver lets Nightstalkers fire three short-range projectiles ... or, that's how it's supposed to work. Thanks to the exploit, Nightstalkers have been running around firing as many shots as they want — but that ends today.
Bungie has just released a Hot Fix to address the issue, and the team's fix is pretty drastic: for the time being, Quiver has been completely disabled. Bungie has assured fans that this is merely a temporary fix — unfortunately, they haven't mentioned when it will be back, either.
Thankfully, there is some good news to go with the bad: as a part of the same Hot Fix, many of the game's events now feature better loot across the board. Weapons and armor have higher base levels, players have a better chance of getting Legendary loot and upgrade materials and new loot (such as Ghosts) are now included. The Hot Fix also preps Destiny for the upcoming Hard Mode version of the King's Fall Raid, which is set to go live on Oct. 23.
Hopefully, it won't be too long before Hunters are back to full strength — Bungie hasn't given any sort of release date for the next patch, but all things considered, it probably isn't too far off.
