For 26 years, we joined "The Simpsons on" countless adventures from the incredibly outrageous and hilariously satirical to the downright heartwarming episodes. With over five hundred episodes under their belt, their annual Halloween special "Treehouse of Horror" has never failed to bring terror to Springfield, not to mention special guest stars such as James Earl Jones and Daniel Radcliffe who played a vampire on their "Tweenlight" episode.
This year though, the Simpsons will give us double the scare with their very first non-"Treehouse of Horror" Halloween episode with special guest stars, comedians Blake Anderson of "Workaholics" and Nick Kroll of "Kroll Show," who will play as pop-up shop employees.
"Halloween of Horror" which airs this Sunday, a week before their annual special, brings the family to a new level of scary when two home invaders, voiced by Anderson and Kroll, set out for revenge and ends up trapping Lisa and Homer in their own home. "Well, you know, we kind of feel a little disrespected by Homer and we show up at his doorstep basically looking for revenge," Anderson explained about his character. It's an all too real and horrifying situation for father and daughter that brings about a few of the more heartwarming and moving moments with the two that showed a new depth to the characters. But of course, it won't be The Simpsons without the laughs and, certainly, "Halloween of Horror" will deliver their special brand of humor especially with two beloved comedians as their guests.
This episode is Anderson and Kroll's first time guest voicing on the show, which is a dream come true for both actors, especially on an episode that will certainly go down in the show's history. Anderson, who is a long-time fan of the series put a lot of love into voicing the guest character and certainly hopes that fans of the show will appreciate his hard work. But if he doesn't, well, let's just say he owes you a beer.
