The latest Waze for iOS update makes it even easier and faster for users to navigate, inform accidents and road issues and send out tips.
Compared to its previous release, the new app is definitely much cleaner and more user-friendly as it requires fewer taps in order for it to begin a drive, give locations, and provide directions to one's intended destination. All of these can be achieved with just a single tap of a button.
Waze version 4.0 also features a new ETA panel which helps the user to organize everything in a single place. Using this panel will allow him to see reports, learn about alternate routes, assign a stop, or send ETA instantly to family and friends.
Other new features brought by the update include reduced battery consumption; easier to read map that sports a cleaner look in order to match the user's drive; a faster and more visual reporting menu; color-coded reports and alerts for easier recognition on the map; and smart calendar reminders which alert the users on the time it is best to leave a current location based on the traffic situations and drive times.
"Just by driving with Waze open, you're already contributing tons of real-time traffic information to your local community," states iTunes on the app's description. "You can also actively report accidents, police traps and other hazards you see on the road. Get road alerts along your route and find the cheapest gas prices around you shared by the community. Plus, you can add friends, send locations or keep others posted on your arrival time."
For several years now since its release, Waze has been launching a series of updates to the app which are all aimed at making things easier and simpler for the users. The latest major update was rolled out three years ago which featured an enhanced guidance interface and a new text-to-speech capability to make it more conducive to use while one is driving.
In April this year, Waze launched version 3.9.4 which had been designed to deliver significant performance improvements such as a faster way to get search results, routes and reroutes. It also features richer traffic information included in ETA and route changes, automatic switching of map display between 2D and 3D view, and bug fixes.
The new Waze version 4.0 is now available for iOS users and can now be downloaded in the App Store. Android users are also getting the latest version in the near future.
