Verizon’s Cheap, No-Frills 10-Inch Ellipsis Tablet Spotted In The Wild

Verizon is reportedly working on its third tablet under its Ellipsis brand. The latest leak shows the Ellipsis 10 featuring Big Red's unmistakable branding on the front and back of the device.

Serial leaker @evleaks, also known as Evan Blass, has posted an image of the rumored tablet on Twitter. As its name implies, the Ellipsis 10 appears to be a 10-inch tablet and it will most likely run on Android.

The image shows the tablet's front and back panel, where Verizon's logo can be seen sitting below the display and another at the bottom of the back panel. At the center of the back panel is the Ellipsis logo, which Verizon also uses for the eight-inch Ellipsis 8 launched in 2014 and the seven-inch Ellipsis 7 in 2013.

As we can see, the tablet will run an iteration of Android, although its midrange status will likely have it running Android Lollipop instead of Android Marshmallow. The bezel on this tablet also looks quite thick, so users shouldn't probably expect Verizon's new slate to come with sleek, slim Apple-style design that other manufacturers have gotten out of their way to copy.

Aside from its size, there is not much else to know about the Ellipsis 10, but the device is likely to be another budget Android tablet to succeed the Ellipsis 8 and Ellipsis 7. Both tablets were launched in November in previous years, so another November launch for the Ellipsis 10 would not be surprising.

The Ellipsis 8 has an eight-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 1,200 pixels, translating into a pixel density of 189 ppi. Under the hood, the tablet has a quad-core 1.5GHz CPU paired with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage expandable via a microSD card. A 5-megapixel camera can be found at the back, and a 1.3-megapixel shooter is in front. The tablet comes with Android 4.4 KitKat and a 5,000 mAh battery. For its entry-level specs, customers can buy the Ellipsis 8 for $249.

The Ellipsis 10 is also likely to have low-end specs for a low-end price, making it a decent buy for people who want to give the tablet away as a gift for kids during the holiday season.
