Google launched Android Pay in September 2015 and signed with numerous businesses that wanted to be in tune with the times.
Jamba Juice, the chain of smoothie outlets, was one of the first to integrate the money-free payment system into its services. Whether you order a standard smoothie, a seasonal beverage or a wheatgrass shot, you may pay for it using the Android Pay app at a terminal.
The smoothie outlet wants more customers to use the wireless payment method and in order to do that, it makes an offer users can't refuse: it gives them Android mini collectibles. They are by no means edible, but simply recompense for using Android Pay.
The popular little droids mostly found in the Dead Zebra shop can now be yours if you stumble in the right Jamba Juice store, at the right time. Timing is essential, as only some stores will have the cute figurines and their numbers will be scarce.
To get ahold of the adorable mini toys, the best bet is to go to the nearest Jamba Juice location, ask if they received the collectibles and purchase something using Android Pay.
It is the first time Google has promoted its payment service in this way, but chances are that word will spread like fire, as demonstrated in past collecting frenzies.
The official Google+ webpage of Jamba Juice sports the official announcement of the promotion, which aims to bring a big smile to customers' faces.
Turning "a sad panda into a happy panda" happens instantly when buyers use Android Pay for their smoothies.
Android used Twitter to spread the happy news about the promotion:
"Tap and Pay w/ #AndroidPay at your neighborhood @JambaJuice this weekend and get a mini Android collectible gift," read the tweet.
So far, there is little information on the exact locations that will have the mini Androids in stock, as well as how many of the little collectibles will be provided for each of them. This means that, theoretically, every Jamba Juice is a hot spot for the toys.
Some stores might not accept Android Pay at checkout, but you can verify which ones do by simply following this link.
In case Android Pay is already a standard for that Jamba Juice location, you should see a small Android Pay logo under the address details.
