Warning! This article features spoilers from episode 3 of Sleepy Hollow.
Things are definitely getting spooky over in Sleepy Hollow. And if you thought Jack the Ripper embodying innocent souls via a dagger in "Blood and Fear" sent chills down your spine, then just wait till next week when Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) faces one of our greatest fears—visiting the dentist.
It only made sense that last night's episode played on the history of famous serial killer Jack the Ripper since it was written by Damien Kindler who featured the murderer in his sci-fi fantasy series Sanctuary.
Of course Crane sacrificed himself yet again to put an end to the killing by injecting himself with malaria since the knife can be stopped with a disease. But watching that end scene with Crane and Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) sharing a moment was so worth seeing our hero go through another near-death experience.
It seems like love is all around, as we detect something brewing between Jenny Mills (Lyndie Greenwood) and Joe Corbin (Zach Appelman), and even Abbie and Agent Daniel Reynolds (Lance Gross). Oh, the love triangle! And of course we couldn't be more happy to learn Crane wants to finally become an American citizen.
And while this couldn't be sweeter, next week will have us fearful of indulging in too much Halloween candy. In the promo for episode 4, not only do we see Crane visiting the dentist probably for the first time ever, but we also learn about the new monster that is terrifying children.
The latest ghoul to join the list of baddies unleashed by Pandora is the Tooth Fairy, who is eating children's souls. While we don't know what this villain looks like yet, we hear some growls in the promo as Crane appears to be its next target. We can only hope that Jenny can get to his side in time to take on the monster.
Titled "The Sisters Mills," the official episode synopsis is as follows:
Abbie and Jenny work together when Sleepy Hollow's children are preyed upon by a monster. Meanwhile, Pandora outdoes herself with her latest assault on the forces of good.
